Dog Park
Located on Salmon River Road at Fairgrove Lane across from the Rancho Penasquitos Library, this 1-acre park features two fenced, double-gated turfed areas; one for small dogs and one for large or all dogs. It also includes benches and a street parking area. Open dawn to dusk.
Several parks feature wooden logs that dogs can climb to gain a different perspective on their surroundings. The eucalyptus trees help keep them cool during their off-leash playtime.
The area around 1852 East 12th Street has a Walk Score of 80, making it very walkable. This location is served by bus routes. For those who prefer to ride their bike, there are plenty of bike lanes in the area. The nearby Westfield Plaza Bonita is a major shopping mall that draws customers from all over San Diego County. It is also home to Paradise Valley Hospital, a 301-bed acute care hospital founded by Ellen White. It is now owned by Prime Healthcare Services.
