Dogs are allowed

Whether you’re looking for a spot to play fetch or simply want to relax and take in the Mission Bay skyline, Fiesta Island Park is doggie HEAVEN. This island sheltered by the waters of Mission Bay is free to use for people with dogs and has a large fenced off-leash dog area. The beachside offers lots of waves that pups love to splash in, while the bayside has much calmer water. The entire island is great for jogging, biking, and enjoying the sights and sounds of nature.

The secluded beach is a popular escape for San Diego residents, including Linda Briggs and her two dogs Kiva and Devyn. “I can almost forget that I live in the eighth largest city in the country,” she says. “It’s so calming and quiet there.” Fiesta Island is also a popular place for bonfires, but remember to clean up after your pet. This is important to ensure the safety of other visitors, as well as your furry friend.

There is a fenced area for dogs

The massive fenced area for dogs at Fiesta Island allows you to let your dog run off-leash while obeying voice commands. This large area is a paradise for pups who love to splash in the ocean and play on sand dunes. It’s a wonderful place to explore and relax, with gorgeous views of downtown San Diego and Mission Bay.

You’ll find plenty of parking here, a double gate, and porta-potties. You’ll also find a lot of shade, which is important in this hot weather. The area is well maintained, but be sure to pick up your pet’s poop.

Fiesta Island is a rare gem close to home. Many locals are fighting to keep it wild and free of invasive plants like foxtails. This means that social butterflies can play together and loners can find space to romp and enjoy the peace. A great place to also visit is De Anza Cove Park.

There is a picnic area

If you’re looking for a picnic area near the beach, Fiesta Island is a great choice. The park has a variety of amenities, including playgrounds and hiking trails. It also has picnic shelters and restrooms. You can also enjoy a meal at one of the restaurants.

The park is located on Mission Bay, and it’s easy to reach by car. Exit Interstate 5 at Sea World Drive, then turn right on East Mission Bay Drive. This road will loop around the park and lead you to Fiesta Island.

This park is home to the popular Over-the-Line softball tournament, which has been held in this location since the 1950s. There is also a large open field that hosts model rocket launches. If you want to launch a rocket, you will need a permit. The park also has a campground for youth groups and is the site of the San Diego Youth Aquatic Center. It is also a favorite place for water skiing.

There is a playground

If you’re looking for a place to exercise your dog off-leash, Fiesta Island is the perfect spot. It’s a large plot of undeveloped land that offers a peaceful escape without having to drive far. There are even a few parks to explore in the area with your dog, including a playground, beach volleyball courts, and bonfire rings.

Fiesta Island is a great place to run, bike, swim, sunbathe, and have a picnic. You can also enjoy water sports like stand-up paddleboarding and kayaking. The west side of the park is popular for personal watercraft owners, and you’ll often see jet skis and other PWC cruising in the water.

The east end of the park has a fenced area with double gate access and disabled parking, porta-potties, and showers. There are also bonfire rings and a plethora of activities to choose from, including beach volleyball and the Over the Line tournament.
